Rochester, New York (Northeast Region)

This month our shining star is Mubarik Bashir from Rochester, New York.

Mubarik Bashir, 29, and son of Mohammad Bashir of Philadelphia, is one of the most active Jama’at members in Rochester. He moved to the Rochester Jama’at in the beginning of 2009.  Mubarik is married, and has been blessed with a daughter and son.  He works a counselor to underprivileged high school drop-outs.  Mubarik is Secretary Tabligh for Rochester Jama’at and Mohtamim Amoor-e-Tulba for Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya.  He has been instrumental in arranging many opportunities for Tabligh.  It has been during his period of service that the Rochester Jama’at was been featured on various local news networks, and has worked very hard to build a relationship with the local media in the area.  He has arranged for and has dedicated many hours to setup a bookstall at the local Public Farmer's Market, which was featured in the local newspaper “Democrat and Chronicle.”  He setup the stall every Saturday morning at 5:30 AM, rain or shine.  Mubarik also gives lectures on Islam and Ahmadiyyat in various schools, colleges and religious organizations.  He has played a major role in arranging the distribution of the ‘Muslims for Peace’ flyers in the Rochester area.

Mubarik also served as a Qaid MKA Rochester during 2010.  In addition to his continued role as Secretary Tabligh and Naib Qaid Rochester Majlis, he also serves MKA at the national level.  His dedication and hard work make him a great asset to our Jama’at and a great example to our young khuddam.
