February 2012 - Usman Sindhu

This month our shining star is Usman Sindhu from Boston Majlis (Northeast Region).
Usman currently serves Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya North East as the Regional Nazim Umoomi and Sanat-o-Tijarat. He was born in Pakistan and moved to New York City at the age of 17. After living in New York for about 10 years, he moved to Boston, MA where he now serves as the local Naib Qaid of Boston Jamaat, as well as local Mohtamid and Nazim Umoomi. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the City College of New York (CCNY)and now works as a senior research analyst at IDC Energy Insights.
Usman has a great interest in traveling and exploring the rich history and architecture of various places. He always enjoys visiting London, in particular, because of the joy of seeing our beloved Khalifa. He enjoys studying the history of Muslim scientists. Now days, he is studying the biographies of the companions of the Promised Messiah (as). The next places to visit on his wish-list are Mecca , Medina, and Qadian. He says, "It would be fascinating to visit and see the places where our spiritual leaders, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and Promised Messiah (as) lived and spent their lives.
Usman has been involved with MKA for a very long time and continuously looks forward for the future MKA events. His involvement with MKA has benefitted him by keeping him close to the community. Moreover, his contributions to MKA have made him a great member to have as part of our Regional Aamila.
He is an avid cricket player and was part of the first team from USA to compete in London at the Masroor Cricket Tournament. He said that “it was a great privilege to represent our jamaat in London.”
