Majlis Sultan-ul-Qalam, USA
Compendium of Published Material (2002-2007)

Majlis Sultan-ul-Qalam, USA is a literary organization operating under the aegis of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, USA. The organization’s express aim is to defend the honor and sanctity of Islam through the pen. The views expressed by individual contributors do not necessarily reflect the official views of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Foreword by Sadr Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, USA

“By the inkstand and by the pen and by that which they write. Thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a madman.”Sura Al-Qalam, Chapter 68, Verses 2-3

At the battle of Uhud, Hadhrat Talhah ibn Ubayd-Allah (ra) became a human shield against the arrows being shot by the enemy towards the face of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). As a result, he sustained more than 70 wounds and earned the title of “a living martyr.” Today, arrows are still being shot at the personality of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the only difference being that these arrows are of disinformation and media smear campaigns based on sheer ignorance of Islamic values and principles. Under the directives of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya, members of Majlis Sultan-ul-Qalam, USA (literally, “Committee of the King of Pen”) have come forward to be the “Talhaas” of Islam-Ahmadiyyat in this day and age. They work tirelessly to review media attacks on Islam, sift through piles of published materials, and then pray for courage from Allah subahana-wa-taala before placing their written responses in front of the shooting arrows.

The Promised Messiah (as) has said: “In this Age, it is the sword of the pen with which we are attacked and the spears of objections are being shot at us. We also should not let out forces go waste. We should use our pen to prove the truth of the religion of God and the Prophethood of this chosen Prophet, may God’s blessings be on him. (Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, Malfoozat, Vol.1, p.223).

Here, for the first time, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, USA reproduces a select set of over forty responses among the hundreds of responses written by members of Majlis Sultan-ul-Qalam, USA. Each of these responses appeared in a major American newspaper or news magazine and reached a potential audience of millions of Americans. Over 50 members of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, USA have been engaged at some level in the work of Majlis Sultan-ul-Qalam, USA. Special acknowledgment goes to members of our sister literary organization, Lajna Imaillah Media Watch, USA, who also contributed to this noble cause. The tremendous efforts of each of these members are testament to the strength of their unwavering commitment to “jihad by the pen” encapsulated by the beautiful saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “The ink of the scholar is holier than the blood of the martyr.”

I invite you to read these responses, pray for the many pious souls who have painstakingly held the fort of the true peaceful teachings of Islam, and then join this group so that you, too, might be counted among the “Talhaas” of the messianic age!
