The 24th Annual Children’s Medical Center Holiday Parade took place in downtown Dallas on December 3rd, 2011. The parade was an opportune event that gave MKA Dallas the chance to go out and promote Islam as a peaceful religion. Eight Khuddam from MKA Dallas got up early on Saturday morning and reached the parade location before the parade start to hand out all three “Muslims for Peace/Loyalty/Life” fliers. The fliers were also handed after the parade and street corners. The parade itself was a masterful event, as many sponsors from around the DFW area promoted the parade and the cause to help young children. The purpose of the annual parade is to raise funds to provide age-appropriate therapies to help children cope with their hospital stay. Goals of thre parade are to support services such as diagnosis-specific education, therapeutic and bedside activities, and medical play. The parade is attended by 300,000 to 350,000 people every year.
Due to the efforts of these khuddam, over four thousand (4000) pamphlets were handed out. Nazim Tabligh Ammar Bin Talha’s coordination of the pamphlet distribution was a vital aspect in giving Khudam the opportunity to show that Ahmadi Muslims do more than say they are peaceful and patriotic Muslims; they show it as well. You may find other videos and photos from the event online.
