Recently Hudhur (aba) instructed us to offer voluntary fasts and pray for the victims of the extreme persecution--an unjust response for simply believing in Allah's prophet. The persecution is indeed barbaric in nature, and has reached incredible heights in countries like Pakistan. It grieves us to think about the pain inflicted upon our fellow brothers and sisters. However, our response is to strike back at this abomination with fasting and prayers.
Answering the call of our Khalifa, Ameer Jamaat USA recently announced that we will fast on every third Thursday of the month. During this fast we should remember the victims of the persecution and pray that Allah remove this trial from us; that Allah bring about a change among the mischievous, so that true Islam can be recognized by everyone. We should pray for His Mercy and special Help.
So tomorrow when you start your fast, remember to pray for this change throughout the day. Let us pray that people recognize the truth of the Promised Messiah. May He bring about a peaceful change for mankind rather than a destructive one like those incurred by past generations. May Allah accept our humble prayers. May His Mercy be shown to all. Amin.
Here are some Quranic prayers to recite: Our Lord, pour forth steadfastness upon us, and make our steps firm, and help us against the disbelieving people. (2:251) Our Lord, forgive us our errors and our excesses in our conduct, and make firm our steps and help us against the disbelieving people. (3:148) Our Lord, we believe; forgive us therefore our sins, and have mercy on us; for Thou are the Best of those who show mercy. (23:110) My Lord, I am in need of whatever good Thou mayest send down to me. (28:25) Perfect our light for us and forgive us; surely Thou hast power over all things. (66:9)
