In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful

Following the Example of Holy Prophet PBUH

The Holy Quran:

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you and forgive you your faults. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful. (Al-Imran 3:32)

Saying of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):

I adjure you to be mindful of your duty to Allah, and to hear and obey even if a negro slave is put in authority over you. Those of you who will survive me will observe much contention. At such time hold fast to my practice and the practice of my rightly guided successors. Hold on to it by your hind teeth, and beware of innovations, for every innovation is error. [Gardens of the Righteous pp. 41]

Saying of the Promised Messiah (AS)

The obligation on God and His Apostle in regard to the guidance to mankind was only twofold, namely, that by sending down the Holy Book, God by means of His word indicated His will and pleasure in fulfillment of the demand inherent in the Divine law; while the duty which devolved on the Holy Prophet was this that by putting into actual practice he should clearly demonstrate it in all its aspects in actual operation. Therefore, he transformed into action what had been said in the form of words, and by his actual practice solved a number of difficulties. [Our Teaching, pp. 19]

Hazrat Khalifatul Massih V (aba)

We can all become closer to Allah by following the example of the Holy Prophet (saw) and the example of those who loved the Holy Prophet (saw). If the Muslim Ummah understands this concept, all conflicts will be resolved. The responsibility of an Ahmadi, however, is to continue to pray and supplicate, and to recite Durood, and to beg for protection and mercy, and to strive to increase in love for the Holy Prophet (saw) and his dear ones, and to exhibit an unparalleled love for them. [Friday Sermon, January 2, 2009]
