Community Volunteer Services Giving back to the community
The youth wing of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya has a long proud history of volunteering in community services. Our volunteers are working to meet the needs of their neighborhoods and the community by participating in initiatives such as Adopt a Highway, Adopt a Family, Soup Kitchen, Neighborhood Park beautification projects, organizing Blood Drives, advocating Peace & harmony and various other Volunteer activities. Last year we contributed more than 110,000 hours in community services.
This year our goal is to strive for 150,000 volunteer hours in services to neighborhood and community by maximizing our participation base in various opportunities and saving $2.5 million plus for the community.
Presidential Volunteer Service Award:
In recognition of these outstanding achievements, the Waqar E Amal Department is proud to announce the availability of the President's Volunteer Service Award, a prestigious national honor offered in recognition of volunteer commitment. Established in 2003, this new Award is given by the President of the United States and honors individuals, families and groups who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service over the course of 12 months.
Mujlis khuddamul Ahmadiyya (MKA) is taking very active part in “adopt a highway” program all across United States to keep your highways clean and save. MKA adopted highways in all States and its members are committed to adopt more highways wherever possible.
In some areas where ”adopt a highway” program is not being offered as community service by Department of Transportation (DOT) we are reaching out for “adopting a Park” in the local neighborhood to beautify and clean our parks by planting flowers/trees. We are looking more active participation in this year for Parks along with Highways.
Majlis Goal: Every Majlis is expected to adopt at least one highway or a park in this year complying all local rules for the adoption from Department of Transportation.
Waqar-e-amal department is undertaking mosque beautification project all over America. Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih (aba) has advised us to take part in planting flowers/trees in the mosque area to uplift mosque surroundings.
Majlis Goal: Every Majlis is expected to arrange at least two all-hands (Khuddam and Atfal) events in a year to participate in mosque beautification project.
This project should be executed with the permission & guidance of local chapter president sahib. The basic purpose of this project is to beautify/uplift the mosque by planting flowers/trees or painting or any other mosque maintenance activity required to uplift house of worship
