Pitch It: Business Plan Competition   Medical Billing Services is the winner of our Pitch It Business Plan Competition. Based in Chicago, the company currently provides billing services to physician practices in the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions. Medical Billing Services is lead by Annas Ahmed and he was assisted by Kamran Khan in this competition. Kamran Khan is also serving as the Qaid Chicago Southwest. It was a challenging decision for the interviewing committee to select a winner after multiple rounds of interviews. This was due to some very good submissions from a wide variety of companies from sectors including social media, healthcare and fitness, 3D printing, telecommunications infrastructure, restaurants, and services industry. The competition was held to encourage entrepreneurship and invest our Khuddam owned businesses. It was launched in light of instructions of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May Allah strengthen his hand). The specifics of the investment from Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya are being worked on. If you are a physician...

Alhamdulillah the Khuddam year is coming to an end. We all have been a part of some amazing events and experiences this year that enhanced our faith and strengthened our brotherhood. But we have to remember, none of this is possible without prayers and sacrifice. In our MKA pledge, we vow sacrifice our life, time and honor to serve the Jamaat and our Majalis. But we want to bring everyone's attention to the sacrifice of WEALTH. I want to draw your attention to this story of sacrifice made by a companion of the Promised Messiah (as) as told by Hazrat Musleh Maud (ra): "Just a few months after the demise of the Promised Messiah (as), Hazrat Munshi Arora sb (ra) came to my house. When I went outside I saw that Munshi Sahib was waiting for me. After a very warm handshake and greeting he took out a few pound sterling from his pocket and asked me to hand over those...

The following are Tarbiyyat Points from Friday Sermon 9/11/15: Faith is to dedicate oneself solely to God and to act upon His commandments. Islam implies understanding all commandments and while saving oneself from every kind of evil, also be the source of spreading security for others. This is the essence of Faith and Islam. If the Islamic world understood these two principles, we would see such magnificent scenes of lasting peace and the spreading of security as could create Heaven on Earth. In Kababir we have a small mosque and our missionary from there writes that a little while back a Jewish teacher was visiting and was introducing the Jama'at to the children in front of our mosque. Very likely that the teacher also knew Arabic. It is written on the entrance of our mosque:  [3:96] whoso enters it, enters peace.  The teacher was reading and translating the Arabic and telling the children that this means that one who enters this abode...

Continuing our series of weekly extracts of writings from Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (as) from "Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam": It may be asked how can this purpose be achieved and through what means can a person find God?  The very first means of achieving this goal is to recognize God Almighty correctly and to believe in the True God....

Continuing our series of weekly extracts of writings from Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (as) from "Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam": The third insight concerning the hereafter is that there will be unlimited progress therein, as God Almighty has said regarding those who believe, "Their light will run before them and on their right hands. They will say, ‘Our Lord, perfect our light for us and forgive us; surely Thou hast power over all things.’" (66:9)  Their supplication that their light may be perfected is an indication of limitless progress. According to Islamic teachings, heaven and hell are the reflections of the actions that a person carries out in this world. The true purpose of man’s life is the worship of God, His understanding and complete devotion to Him. Islam is inherent in man’s nature and man has been created in accord with Islam. That is why, despite occupying himself with diverse projects in this life, man does not find his true welfare except in God. The highest reach of man’s...

Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : The Holy Prophet (saws) said: A woman is like a rib; if you try to straighten it you will break it and if you wish to draw benefit from it you can do so despite its crookedness. (Bokhari and Muslim) The Holy Prophet (saws) said: Let no Muslim man entertain any rancor against a Muslim woman. Should he dislike one quality in her, he would find another which is pleasing (Muslim) A companion asked the Holy Prophet (saws): What is the right of a wife against her husband? He said: Feed her when you feed yourself; clothe her when you clothe yourself, do not strike her on her face, do not revile her, and do not separate yourself from her except inside the house (Abu Daud) The Holy Prophet (saws) said: The most perfect of believers in the matter of faith is he whose behavior is best; and the best of you are those who...

Abdul Hai Thomas - Jacksonville, Florida   In July 1991 and November 1992 I begged my mother to take me to see ‘Boyz n the Hood’ and ‘Malcolm X’. Although hesitant to let a 9-10 year old watch violent movies, she agreed to take me as long she “covered [my] eyes during the bad parts”. However, I wasn’t interested in the violence or the bad parts, I was intrigued by the cultural and societal implications of the stories. After watching those two movies, four scenes left indelible impressions on me: 1) Furious Styles taking Tre and Ricky to Compton and telling them about gentrification 2) Ricky being killed by gang violence 3) Malcolm X struggling to fall to his knees in submission 4) Malcolm X’s pilgrimage to Mecca In connecting these scenes, even as a young child, I knew that Islam was the remedy. In that theater in Dayton, Ohio, November 1992, Allah Almighty chose me. I turned to my mother and told her I was going...

Continuing our series of weekly extracts of writings from Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (as) from "Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam": Reward and punishment start immediately and those condemned to hell go to hell, and those who are to be admitted to heaven go to heaven. But thereafter there is a day of grand manifestation which has been appointed out of the great wisdom of God. He created man so that He should be recognized through His power of creation. Then He will destroy everything so that He might be recognized through His Supremacy over everything, and then He will gather everyone after bestowing perfect life on them so that He might be recognized through His Power. ...
