Eid Message from Sadr Majlis

Dear Khuddam,

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

With the conclusion of the blessed month of Ramadan, Eid Mubarak to all of you! It’s always a time for exultation and unbridled joy. The lights are lit at home, new clothes are donned, and mother makes her best sweets.

But sometimes there’s a lingering regret mingled with that joy – a feeling that we didn’t quite do enough during Ramadan. People are often heard saying, “I wish I could have done more.” More prayers, more Qur’an, more sacrifice, just not enough time to do more, etc.

My dear brothers, that chance to do more lay ahead. It is not an opportunity missed. It’s a opportunity that lay ahead. And you are conditioned really well in this moment to take on the rigors of advanced spirituality. Just fasting for Allah’s sake alone gives you the discipline and self-restraint you need, even without some of the bonus points that come with nightly tarawee, tahajjud, and completing a read of the Qur’an.

In reality the only true regret is if we don’t harness the new life Allah has breathed into us this Ramadan. So keep the Quran open, keep visiting the mosque, and keep speaking to God in and outside of salat. And if you falter temporarily don’t worry because you can weather challenges – Ramadan has given you this skill.

Wishing you a blessed Eid ul Fitr and ongoing spiritual returns from now until the next, InshaAllah.
والسلام
