Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : A woman came to the Holy Prophet (Saws) and said: Messenger of Allah, I suffer from epilepsy and when I have a fit, my body is exposed.  Please pray to Allah for me.  He said: If you choose to be steadfast under this affliction, you will gain Paradise, but if you so wish I shall pray that Allah may heal you.  She said: I shall be steadfast, but please pray that my body may not be exposed.  He prayed accordingly.  (Bokhari and Muslim) The Holy Prophet (saws) said:  Whatever trouble, illness, anxiety, grief, hurt, or sorrow afflicts a Muslim, even the pricking of a thorn, but Allah removes instead some of his defaults. (Bokhari and Muslim)...

I’d imagine that every child began his or her relationship with Ramadan the same way I did. With much excitement followed by intense bewilderment, then “nose to the grindstone” determination followed by ultimate euphoria. Get ready kids! This is your first day of Ramadan! I imagine many of us would remember as we approached our first fast. We had seen our parents and jamaat members fast and talk about the spiritual benefits of fasting. We’d been excited to eventually be a part of it. We’d look forward to that day when we are no longer simply children but are practicing Muslims making real significant sacrifices for our faith. The day comes when you’re finally of age and you’d hardly slept the night before due to the anticipation. You’d be excited to awake in the early morning hours. To shuffle around, quietly getting your pre fast meal together and talking in hushed tones with your family so not to wake the younger siblings. There would be...

The concept of the Farewell Friday is something Muslims or the religious scholars have concocted through their own incorrect interpretations. Generally speaking Traditions say that it (Laylatul Qadr) should be looked for in the odd nights during last ten days of Ramadan. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was given the knowledge of the specific date of the Night of Destiny (Laylatul Qadr) during which a true believer experiences special acceptance of prayers. ...

Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : The Holy Prophet (saws) said: Wondrous is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything, and it is so for him alone.  If he experiences something agreeable, he is grateful to God and that is good for him; and if he experiences adversity, he is steadfast and that is good for him. (Muslim)   The Holy Prophet (saws) passed by a woman who was crying over a grave.  He said to her: Be mindful of thy duty to Allah and be steadfast.  She retorted: Leave me alone; you have not been afflicted as I have been.  She had not known who he was.  Someone told her: That was the Holy Prophet (saws)  She proceeded to the door of the Holy Prophet (saws) and not finding any doorman went in and said to him: I had not recognized you.  He said: Steadfastness means to be resigned at the time of the...

Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : The Holy Prophet (Saws) related: An individual from a people before you having killed as many as 99 people inquired who was the most learned person on earth.  He was directed to a monk.  He went to the monk and said: I have killed 99 people.  Is there any chance of repentance left for me? The monk answered: No.  Then he dispatched the monk also and completed a full century of victims.  Then he inquired again: Who is the most learned person on Earth? and was directed to a savant, to whom he said: I have killed 100 people.  Is there a chance of repentance left for me?  The savant said: Yes.  What can stand between you and repentance? Proceed to such and such a land.  In it there are people who worship God.  Join them in the worship of God and do not return to thine own land, for it is...

After tashhud, ta’awwuz and recitation of Sura Al-Fatiha, Huzoor Aqdas (may Allah strengthen him with His Mighty Help) recited the following two verses of the Holy Quran and gave their Urdu translation: Say, “O My servants who have committed excesses against their own souls! despair not of the mercy of Allah, surely Allah forgives all sins. Verily He is Most Forgiving, Merciful. And turn ye to your Lord, and submit yourselves to Him, before there comes unto you the punishment; for then you shall not be helped. (39:54-55) In the Holy Quran, Allah the Exalted, in various verses in the context of various topics has drawn the attention of His servants that He is Most Forgiving and Ever Merciful. These verses that I have recited, in the first of them, this same subject has been discussed. And in it there is a beautiful message for every such person who is fearful of the punishment of God for having committed sins and wishes to absorb the...

On a bright and sunny morning two buses full of Khuddam made a historic trip to our nation’s capital, Washington DC on Friday, May 30 to meet with the American lawmakers under the special direction and approval of Khalifatul Masih V aba. Some two hundred khuddam delegates from 70 different chapters all across the United States arrived clothed in the same uniform: black cap, black vest, black pants, white shirt, and the traditional Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya scarf. The uniform captured the attention of many observers. The event, organized by Dr. Ahmad Chaudhry, was to meet with the local districts’ congressional leaders on Capitol Hill in order to inform them about MKA USA’s campaign of “Ahmadiayya Muslim Youth Fight Against Hunger in America” and seek their support to connect with other like‐minded organizations in our districts to achieve our goals. The Queens delegation comprised of Qaid Abubakr Rana Sahib, Omer Naseer Sahib and Zulfikar Sikder Sahib, who met with Congressman Gregory Meeks...
