Message from Sadr Majlis

My dear Ahmadi youth,

We are outraged by the violence we see around the world being done in the name of Islam. The future it seems is becoming increasingly insecure and uncertain. But rather than be afraid or uneasy, recognize this is a timely opportunity given to you by Allah to tell others what true Islam is. No community has the guidance or credentials to speak about it like ours does. If you’ve never done tabligh in your life, this is the time to start. Trust me when I say it doesn’t take much and it’s easier than you think.

Meanwhile, if at any time you are treated unfairly for reasons related to your faith, it is absolutely paramount that your conduct remain patient, honorable and dignified. The Holy Qur’an reminds us that when the ignorant address you, remain graceful and offer them a word of ‘peace’ (Holy Qur’an 25:64). So in such a situation, be the better Muslim and be the better American. Whether profiled, picked on, or just passed up, in time the people will come to know the real you.

To the young fathers out there, do not raise your children in silence. Talk to them about all this. Tell them terrorism, and in fact all kinds of abuse, are completely foreign concepts to Islam. Therefore, there is no reason for them to ever feel embarrassed by who they are. If classmates tease them it’s only out of meanness, and there is no substance to their allegations.

The Holy Prophet (sa) said that in the Latter Days my community will face particularly trying times. At that time, they will take refuge on a mountain. That mountain, my dear youth, is dua. Let us turn to Allah the Almighty as the sole source of any Help which we seek. Verily, there is ease after hardship.

Wasalaam,

Bilal Rana
