Continuing our series of weekly extracts of writings from Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (as) from "Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam": According to Islamic principles, for the soul to act perfectly, it is necessary for it to enjoy the companionship of a body at all times.  On death the soul departs from this mortal body, but in the intermediate state every soul is invested with a body in order to enable it to react to the conditions of that state. That body is not like this physical body, but is prepared from light or from darkness, according to the quality of the person's actions in this life, as if a man's actions serve as a body for the soul in that state....

Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : The Holy Prophet (saws) said: I stood at the gate of Paradise and observed that the generality of those who entered it were the lowly.  The wealthy had been held back from it.  Then those condemned to the Fire were ordered to it and I stood at the gate of the Fire and observed that the generality of those who entered it were women (Bokhari and Muslim)...

Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : The Holy Prophet (saws) said: Shall I tell you who are the dwellers of Paradise? It is every weak one who is accounted weak and is looked down upon, who if he takes an oath relying upon Allah He would fulfill it.  Now shall I tell you who are the denizens of the Fire? It is every ignorant, impertinent, prideful, and arrogant one (Bokhari and Muslim)...

Continuing our series of weekly extracts of writings from Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (as) from "Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam": God Almighty says that knowledge of the existence of hell as a certainty can be acquired in this life through reason, its knowledge through the certainty of sight will be acquired in Barzakh, the intermediate state between death and judgement, and on the Day of Judgement that knowledge would become a certainty by experience....

Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : The Holy Prophet (saws) said: Allah will cover up the faults on the Day of Judgment of him who covers up the faults of another in this world (Muslim)...

Continuing our series of weekly extracts of writings from Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (as) from "Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam": When a person perceives smoke from a distance his mind conceives that smoke and fire are inseparable, and therefore where there is smoke there must be fire also.  This would be knowledge by the certainty of reason.  Then on a nearer approach he sees the flames of the fire and that is knowledge by the certainty of sight.  Should he enter into the fire, that would be knowledge by the certainty of experience....

Following Hadith taken from "Gardens of the Righteous" : Bra'a ibn 'Azib relates: The Messenger of Allah (Saws) enjoined seven things upon us and forbade us seven.  He commanded us to visit the sick; to follow funerals, to call down Allah's mercy on one who sneezes, to fulfill vows, to help the wronged, to accept an invitation, and to multiply the greeting of peace.  He forbade us wearing gold rings, drinking from silver vessels, sitting on red silk cushions, and wearing stuff made from silk and cotton mixed, pure silk, heavy silk, and brocade. (Bokhari and Muslim)...
